Special Events

Each year, Annandale Village hosts several key fundraising events. These events serve as a source of funding to allow us to continue to provide vital programs and services people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries.  We are honored by your participation and especially grateful to the sponsors and volunteers of these special events.

KISS-A-PIG (People Invested in Giving)

Kiss-A-Pig Campaign LogoAnnandale’s Kiss-A-Pig Campaign is a totally HOGsome event designed to increase the awareness of developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries. In addition, funds raised through the Kiss-A-Pig program help to provide a comprehensive range of programs and support services for individuals and families living with and affected by developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries.

The word “PIG” is not a derogatory term. For the purposes of this unique special event, the word “PIG” is an acronym meaning People Invested in Giving.

For eight weeks, twelve candidates, representing a variety of businesses, community organizations, and professions are serving as candidates vying for the opportunity to pucker up and kiss a pig in support of men and women with autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other forms of developmental disabilities. Each dollar donated equals one vote; the more generous the donation, the more votes for the candidate. The candidate that receives the most votes, or dollars raised,  by InHOGuration Day will be named the winner of the Kiss-A-Pig campaign!

Annandale’s Jazzy Thing

On Saturday, April 29, 2017, Lillian Webb Park in Historic Downtown Norcross will serve as host of Annandale Village’s 26th annual signature event, Annandale’s Jazzy Thing.

ANNANDALE-0004 Jazzy Thing Logo2Each year, more than 900-1,000 attendees of Annandale’s Jazzy Thing experience an evening of exquisite cuisine, world-class casino games, an exciting silent auction, live entertainment, dance, music, and the Arts Bazaar featuring the unique and beautiful artwork created by people with developmental disabilities and other local artists. Recognized as one of the most anticipated and best charitable events in our community, our 21st annual event promises to be fantastic.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised through this important event allows Annandale Village the opportunity to provide programs and services to individuals and families that would otherwise have little to no access to vital services. In the past five years, Annandale has provided more than one million dollars in fee assistance to families that have been impacted by the poor economy, and could not afford some or all of the services of Annandale. Therefore, the significance of this year’s fundraising event cannot be underestimated.  We hope you will choose to support this important event by becoming a sponsor or ticket holder.

The Extra Mile 5k Walk/Run

ANNANDALE-0046 The Extra Mile logoScheduled for September 24, 2016, the Extra Mile 5k Walk/Run is a USATF certified Peachtree Road Race qualifying event that impassions and gives hope to people living with and affected by an intellectual disability or traumatic brain injury.  Hundreds of families, friends, businesses, schools and community organizations lace up their sneakers to turn hope into reality as they walk or run in honor, in celebration, or in memory of a loved one. Others participate out of a simple concern for individuals and families impacted by the ever-increasing number of people with some form of intellectual disability.

Why the extra mile?  Because at the conclusion of the 5k Walk/Run, participants go the extra mile by taking a celebratory victory lap with members of our community with a developmental disability.
