WHAT IS ANNANDALE’S KISS-A-PIG CAMPAIGN?
Annandale’s Kiss-A-Pig Campaign is a totally HOGsome event designed to increase the awareness of intellectual disabilities and traumatic brain injuries. In addition, funds raised through the Kiss-A-Pig program will provide a comprehensive range of programs and support services for individuals and families living with and affected by intellectual disabilities and traumatic brain injuries.
Nationwide, this fundraising model annually generates millions of dollars for various local and nationally-based nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. Annandale Village is pleased to be able to introduce this event in the Metropolitan Atlanta area.
WHAT DOES THE WORD PIG STAND FOR?
The word “PIG” is not a derogatory term. For the purposes of this unique special event, the word “PIG” is an acronym meaning People Invested in Giving.
HOW DOES THE KISS-A-PIG PROGRAM WORK?
From April 1 – May 18, 2017 ten community leaders, representing a variety of businesses, community organizations, schools, and professions are serving as candidates vying for the opportunity to pucker up and kiss a pig in support of men and women with autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other forms of intellectual disabilities. Each dollar donated equals one vote; the more generous the donation, the more votes for the candidate. The candidate that receives the most votes, or dollars raised, by May 18t, will be named the winner of the Kiss-A-Pig campaign!
